How did we meet? Well, it was a bit of a team effort. At the time, Lauren was teaching an Autism class and worked at a school with Mitch’s mom in Calgary, and Mitch’s mom thought, Hey, I’ve got a son for you! So she slipped Mitch’s phone number to Lauren’s Education Assistant, Rani, who proceeded to pass along Mitch’s number to Lauren. Lauren, not quite sure about texting a co-worker’s son, decided to play it safe and never ended up texting Mitch. Rani and Lina (Mitch’s mom) continued to play match maker and fast forward to Mitch finally getting Lauren’s number a few months later (thanks, Mom!) and sending the first text. Now, in typical Lauren fashion, she didn’t exactly rush to reply. It took her... a while (weeks, to be exact). But finally, she texted back, and they decided to go on a first date. Neither of them expected much from such an unusual set up, but their first date at Greta Bar went unbelievably well, and they felt like they had known each other for years. They hit it off immediately and quickly found themselves on a second, third, and fourth date. Before they knew it, Lauren was no longer set to move back to Ontario and instead they were moving in together, renting an apartment in Bridgeland, Calgary, where they became proud pawrents to their loving wiener dog, Archie. Soon after, they decided to make things REAL and bought a house in Airdrie, where they now live with their two wiener dogs, Archie and Penny. After over four years together, Mitch proposed to Lauren in beautiful Banff, AB, and now they’re so excited to start the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife!
